Roderick M. Zalamea, M.D., F.S.C.C.T.

Dr. Zalamea, a native of Memphis, TN,  joined Radiology of Huntsville in July 2008 following completion of his B.S. from the University of Notre Dame in 1997,  M.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 2002, Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis in 2007 (Chief Resident) and Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship at Wake Forest University in 2008. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and Certification Board of Cardiovascular CT, and is a member of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, Society of Cardiovascular CT, Society of Cardiovascular MR, North American Society of Cardiovascular Imaging,  Society of Thoracic Radiology and other professional organizations.  Dr. Zalamea holds special interests in cardiac CT and cardiac MRI as a Level 3 instructor in both, as verified by the Societies of Cardiovascular CT and Cardiovascular MRI, respectively.  He also possesses interests in thoracic CT, including high resolution chest CT.  Dr. Zalamea has published papers and given professional lectures.  He was also recently awarded fellow status in the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography as well as having received the ACR Certificate of Advanced Proficiency in Cardiac CT.
